Dynamical neurofeedback brain training is similar to physical training for the body, such as having a yoga or meditation instructor or personal trainer. Much of our suffering comes from pervasive recurring thoughts and feelings in which our minds become emotionally stranded or cognitively “stuck”. Neurofeedback prompts the brain to draw from its existing resources and pull itself out of these mental “ruts”. The result can be a more open and positive mindset in which obstacles may become more manageable and problems more resolvable.
Much like a mirror that promotes self-correction, NeurOptimal®’s proprietary neurofeedback program monitors your brain activity and then provides “feedback” to your central nervous system about what it has just done. When the software detects a tremor in your brain wave pattern, it sends an audible signal that gives the brain the opportunity to “reset” and self-correct. The program is educating your brain about what is is doing at that moment in training. Our brains are designed to detect differences and minimize discomfort. “When Joanne told me about NeurOptimal, it was pretty much our last resort. At that time, our 6yo was violent every day, multiple times a day. The constant threat of sudden violence erupting was exhausting. Bringing him to a grocery store usually meant some kind of unpleasantness, whether he was rolling on the floor protesting a decision or running away and hiding “for fun,” so we stopped taking him (which complicates daily life).
